Metal Halide Lighting - Good?

Does anyone know how good these lights are and if they would work well for my tank. My friend can get them for me through his distributor for $850.00 and it seems like a good deal.

What's the dimensions of your tank from front to back? The only downside to that unit would be since the lights are so close to the water, you get sort of a spotlight affect. Depending on the depth (front to back) of your tank and where you place the fixture, you may have dark spots. You would have to watch where you place corals, that is if you plan on corals.
