Question Microbubbles from Eshopps skimmer

I installed a new Eshopps PSK-75H into my tank 3 days ago. It is working and removing proteins extremely well. However, my tank is now full of microbubbles coming from the foam filter. I have removed the foam and squeezed it under water 3 times to remove the bubbles in the foam but they return after about 5 minutes.

My tank water level is within 1/2 inch of the top and the skimmer water level is at the bottom of the neck, just under the collection cup flange. The center section has mostly clear water in the bottom half and is full of bubbles in the top half up to the neck.

Any idea how to stop the microbubbles or will they stop eventually as the skimmer runs longer?

Thanks for any helpful advice.
