ne1 mod thier mj to use as a needle wheel pump?
i did.
i was a bit frustrated at the performacne of my (modded) mj setup
(drilled 2 holes in the side of my hv1 excalibur skimmer preskimm box
put mj to suck preskimmed water into pump then force it thru a 90 degree bend into the skimmer)
now i have the mj pump modded to be a needle wheel pump ,
i ditched the preskimm box and put the modded mj right into the intake of my skimmer
its working better than ever (better than the original setup - factory- rio 800)
within 2 hrs the skimmer was going strong pulling out a dark tea colored skimmate
(had my hands in the tank folling with this and freaking out the fish)
everyone knows that if you put your hands in the tank the skimmer dosent skimm well
why i dont clearly understand if ne1 wants to do this
