Moving bed filters?

How many of you have heard of them? Do any of you use them? I'm thinking of building one, maybe even two. I found a video on YouTube that uses ceramic media and a sponge that I really want to try (link to video below). What are your opinions on them?

Never heard of it before but after watching the video, it looks like a great way to harness bb. I might build one niw so I can transfer it between my tank and my qt.

If you can find K1 media it works even better.

I watched a few videos, one of them on had the ceramic media and no sponge, but I thought the one with the sponge might be better as it would catch the yucky stuff and help keep water cleaner.
