Hey guys, I have only a little 10gal tank and i bought it as a kit many months ago and its been fine. However I have run out of filter media and the LFS I bought it from does not have this kit around anymore.

What I would like to do is change the filter to something better anyway. Are filters with bio wheels better than charchol/filter filters?

If so, can someone recommend a good one for a 10 gal tank?

Thanks much!

Usually you also put a cartridge in behind the wheel down in the filter. Personally, I don't use charcoal in my tanks. I like the AquaClears with the sponges to allow for tons of bacterial growth. I believe an AquaMini would be fine, or the 150.

I second the AC recommendation.

If this is an established tank there is no real need for a biowheel, but they are nice little inventions. If you want one, get a Penguin 125 for a 10gal.
