Need to know how to set up my filter

I have know Idea what I have. The filter is I guess a slump tank. It's split in to 2 sections. I got these balls to go in it and it has 2 houses that hang over into the tank I guess. It also have these to small containers that I guess are part of the filter. I can't post pics. Someone please help me

Gonna need more info than that in order to help you in this endeavor. Do you have a brand or model number? Are you sure it is HOB? What color is it, shape, etc?

It's just like a square box with 2 tubes coming out of the top of it and it is almost split. It has a filter thing that slides in to the top right side. Idk how it works and it's hard to explain
