New skimmer and questions

We just got a Coralife Super Skimmer 65 for our 45 gal. and just wanted to ask this question. Should we continue to run the Chemi-Pure Elite & Purigen, or is just activated carbon fine?

Also, what water conditioners are ok to use with a skimmer?

Every system is different. Test water and use what works for you.

What do you mean by water conditioners? You are using rodi water?

Thank you for your response. For now, we'll try swithching to just the activated carbon, and test daily to see if any problems arise.

We use our tap water for water changes & top off. I've tested our well water fairly often and I haven't seen even a trace amount of nitrate, silicate, or phosphate.

What type of setup are you going with? Fish only? Do you plan on corals or anemones?

I'd be concerned with other elements like metals in the well water.

This is an established 45 gal. reef. We've had our well water tested by a lab and no heavy metals are present.
