New to saltwater hobby

Hello, I have a 75 gallon fresh water and iwant to switch to saltwater. am i going to have to drain my entire tank and start fresh? Also how deep should my sand be in the bottom of my tank, I plain on doing fish only for now.

personally i would drain it, sanitize it, and start fresh, but thts just me, your sand depth depends on what you want, if you want a shallow sandbed 1-2 inches is good, if you want a nice deep one 2-3 inches is good, if you want something like a jawfish ull need a deep sandbed

Thanks for the response, as far as sanitizing the tank wht do you recommend?

A weak bleach water solution should do the trick, spray it on, and rinse it untill u dont smell bleach anymore

i dont know if i would use bleach just water and vinegar works for me

Bleach is fine
