Hello, newbie aquarium owner here!
I've recently been given a tank. 55Gal. It's a long aquarium, and well over a decade old. I'm all but ready to throw fish in there, but I need a hood or two for the thing!
How do I know what size I need for it? Do i measure the outside rim, or the inside where the lids would settle into? Where's the best place to buy a hood? If I have no local aquarium store in my area other than a PetSmart, and prefer to shop online.
The tank top is split into two sections, so I think I need at least two lids. I'm also 80% confident that I measure from the inside rim, but nowhere I look has the matching measurements, so I think I'm doing something wrong.
