Noisy filter

Hello,

I just bought a new Tetra “whisper” (ironic) filter and it’s making quite a loud buzzing noise. It’s brand new and came in yesterday and I’m worried the noise is gonna bother my fish at night. Also it’s a little too loud for my taste and can be hard to sleep with. I’m sure I’d get used to it but is there any way to quiet it a little? I saw videos on making sure it’s clean etc, and it is. It’s brand new, clean, etc, and I made sure to set it up properly and that all the parts are correct. My girlfriend has the same filter and has had it for about a month and hers seems to be silent.

Try adjusting it, moving it up or down on the tank lip. Sometimes this works. If not try putting something where it rests on the back of the tank or where it hangs on the back. I've found that when HOB's are sitting weird on the tank they'll vibrate loudly.
