Octopus NW200 water level

I know a few of you out there a running Octopus Skimmers. Does anyone run one in there sump? I am trying to figure out what the water level in my Skimmer section of the sump should be.

They recommend about 8" of water. Mine's in about 7 1/2".

would running it a bit deeper than that hurt performance? I think mine would sit at about 10 inches, I could raise it up some, but that would be less room for cleaning under stand.

10" should be fine. Try not to go any deeper tho.
You plan on doing any mods to it?

I have not really looked into moding it yet, what can you do for better preformance?

There are a few pretty easy mods that will dramatically boost performance, even tho it works fine without doing anything to it.
I did pretty much everything on this mod thread from RC.
