Odd sized 40 gallon

I have a 40 gallon that's 37" long. Not 36" unfortunately. Buying an all-glass 36" canopy does not work as it almost touches the sides, lengthwise and sinks into the water. I'm using a 36" light with my old 55 gallon hood. it's ugly

Yes I need a hood. It's very dry here in So Cal and we have hard water. The evaporation is extreme and worsens water conditions.

any suggestions on where I can find a 37" hood of some type? I'm not picky. I will be making one from plexi-glass this weekend if I need to, but it's in my livingroom and I'd like it to look as nice as possible.

I've done alot of web searches but can only find 36" so far.

Pretty sure it would need to be custom made.

You can buy the handle, hinge, and plastic filler panel for a glass canopy and have some glass cut. I don't know of any stock 37" hoods.

You might consider buying a sheet of plexiglass from home depot and cutting it to fit. If you don't have the tools to do it, I'm in SoCal too and might be able to help you cut it to size.
