I just set up my 33gal, ready for a fishless cycle, and found out the hard way that the (used) AquaClear 300 filter has a crack in it, just behind the propeller in the space where the water is pushed down into the media. The crack is tight, meaning I can't separate it by pulling or twisting, but it definately leaks steady big drops.
Do you think if I silicone it, inside as well as outside, that it would be ok to use?
Thanks for any advice.
