Overflow help

I have a 65 gal with an overflow sump and like to have slugs in the tank. Only problem is they tend to like to take a water slide ride down the overflow... Anyone had this issue and if so how did you fix the problem.

You could some plastic netting. I used some that garlic blubs came in.
