Overhead filtration system, is it an upgrade?

I am starting to look into an aquarium for my home. I have an old Fluval 404 that I used in a 90 gallon tank many years ago. As I was shopping around to get up to date on what is available I found a special on an aquarium with a overhead filtration system.

I never saw these before, are they any good? Or should I stay with my Fluval?

They can be very good, as you usually have a number of media options, and a relatively large amount of room for the media.Usually easy to clean. Depending on how the water re-enters the tank it may be noisier than the cannister.
