I have a 125 gal fresh water community tank with goldies, angels
,plecos,(to many to name) currently have a rena xp2,a sponge filter
and an emperor 400 which I wonna get rid off(canopy can't go over
it).for the price I'm concedering the cascade 1500 or the
magnum 350. which one do you guys recommend. I'm looking
for reliability, performance:rolleyes: thanx everone

I used a Magnum 350. IMO, it is a PITA to service. <Almost impossible to get rid of all air in the canister ... burping & tilting needed as per instructions ... Even then, some air always remains and that makes the filter noisy.>

Never had a cascade, so can't compare.

i have a cascade in tank filter and even though its a cheaper brand, it seems to do a really good job. my recommendation on an easy simple canister would be a fluval... i have a 305 and a 405 and they are amazingly simple to set up, clean, take apart, etc... and priming them after cleaning is as simple as opening a valve, waiting for a minute, then plugging in...
