Power head flow too much?

I have two aqueon 700s and one 950. Is the 950 too much for my 55gal? I have the 950 pointed up for surface agitation.

It doesn't sound like too much.

It just seems like the water ripples are big and really slam into the other side of the tank

Then adjust the big one a little lower, and use one of the smaller ones for the surface.
