Problem with Eshopps WD-100SC

I have this wet/dry filter set up for my 55 gallon tank. Every time I turn off the pump for maintenance and plug it back in afterwards, HUGE amounts of this white film is ejected into my tank. It takes a good 30 minutes to siphon it all out . This film seems to be growing in the return line. Anyone else experience this? Anyone know how to stop this from happening?

I have the same issue its a biofilm normally it desolves and goes away for me
