Protein Skimmer and evaporation

Quick question....before I purchased my protein skimmer for my 75 gallon SW tank, I topped it off once a week. I added a protein skimmer almost 3 weeks ago, and am now topping my tank off roughly every 3-4 days to keep my SG in the correct range.

Is this normal, and am I correct in thinking its the skimmer? Its the only piece of equipment I've added since this started to occur. I have to say, I love having a protein skimmer....the stuff that collects in the cup is nasty!!!

If the water you are adding is equal to the water you remove from the skimmer I would say yes. If not then I would say that the weather is getting hotter causing more evaporation. I run a fan to cool my tank water and loose ~1 gal a day to evaporation. Normal...
PS I picked up a ATO from bulkreefsupply.com to make it easier on myself as far as top-off goes.
