question about RO/DI usage

if i set up my tank using regular tap water and i switch to ro/di water how long do you think it will take to get my water to become mostly ro/di water? you know what im trying to say or no?

I would go to your lfs and get rodi water to start it out with, Without knowing your current water condiotions if you choose to use tap water your tank will be very likely to have a more serious algae outbreak during it's cycling process unless your a lucky one with good tap water. Better to be safe because this hobby throws enough curve balls at you to contend with without adding user mistakes.

water quality is not a place to get cheap....
