Red sea calcium test

I'm very new to saltwater aquariums. 3 months approximatly. I bought a red sea test kit and it is hard to read the test. Does anyone have any advice

Hi, the only advise I can give you is forget most of the colour charted tests and go digital... In my opinion it's the only way to go!!! Hanna do a great line in digital testers at a great price and you get an instant true reading, hope this helps
 
I have the Red Sea mg kit and I love it. It's a little more labor intensive than others but very accurate. Not sure how to help your situation but I know you have to be careful you don't pass the target color on the final step.
 
I'm having a hard time reading the syringe. Last night I did a calcium test and the stopper stopped at .08 at the top of the stopper. The card starts reading at .58. So I'm thinking the calcium is very low. On Saturday after my water change I did a test and the stopper was at .02, so I'm thinking on the card the test result would be 0.80 which the calcium would of been at 400. So what would be absorbing all my calcium. I have 2 kenya plants, 2 cleaner shrimp and one green alge plant.
