Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter

Just got one for my 2.5g minibow. Anyways, I hear the filter is supposed to be, like, really quiet. It's humming very loudly, I'd say as loud as the AquaClear 30 in the next room.


Is this normal for some filters? Should I wait it out? I really like this filter yet I value my sleep.


Also, which way on the flow control knob? Left for more, right for less? It doesn't say.

If you look at the intake pipe thingy, you'll see the control knob will have a small plastic square that blocks the water flow. If you turn it so the square is almost blocking the flow (horizontally), that's the lowest setting. Having it turned the other way so it's vertical is the highest.

Mine is ridiculously noisy as well; I'm honestly wondering whether or not it annoys my betta. :c
