Resealing a Tank

I was wondering how often you need to reseal a tank??? I have a 25 gallon tank that I've had for about 10 years now. Do glass tanks need any maintenance?

I wouldn't worry about it, unless the tank has been sitting out in the sun and the silicone is cracking. I had a 5 gallon I've had since I was 5, and that was even bought used. I figure it's about 20 years old and still perfect.
