Skimmer question

Hey!

I just bought a v2 120 skimmer and I think I have it set up correctly. But how do I know if it's working properly and is it supposed to make a gurgling noise all the time?

TIA

Skimmers usually take a week or two to break in. Mine makes the bubbling sound all the time.

I'm not familiar with the skimmer you have though.

Really!!? My tank is in my room so there will be no chance of me sleeping at night with it on! Well hopefully it will start working soon!

Do they need to be left on 24/7?

Yep, all the time. Unless youre feeding corals or something then you shut it down for a bit. My remora was pretty noisy at first but over time it got quieter. Yours may as well

Plenty of people run them only part of the time. Still, the sound should be a semi-refreshing bubbling sound. Not a gurgling "I'm strangling you" sound
