Squeaky Spray Bar?

Hi!
I just setup a new to me Penn Plax Cascade 1000 canister filter and the spray bar (at the end of it) kept squeaking. No kidding, it sounded like a squirrel or chipmunk or so my dogs thought. When I put my finger over the offending hole the squeak stopped but I could get anything to hold there--I tried a clamp but the water pressure was too much. So I took it off and tried another spray bar that I had from another canister:same squeaky squeal. In the end I simply kept it off. Any ideas?

plug the offending hole with a dab of silicone or enlarge it a bit to ease the pressure
