Hey all!! They have the sunsun 302 with uv on amazon for $34!! Would this be a good filter for my 30l?? I've heard good things about the brand, it just seems like way to good of a deal..

The UV is basically a gimmick. That being said, you don't have to use it.

Keep in mind you will need to buy media. Make sure you use a quality bio-media in it.

Actual flow rate is ~125gph range so I would say that would be good for a 30l.

Should I get the next model up? Why is the uv a joke?

The 302 should be plenty for a 30l unless you are planning to grossly overstock it.

The UV filter is a gimmick because the use of a UV filter on a freshwater tank is questionable to begin with. On top of that a low quality UV filter applied to canister filter flow rates will be even more limited.

The tank is definitely well stocked, it has an ac 70 on it currently, i want a canister so I can run an in line co2 reactor..

If anything I'd swap the 70 for the 50 on my 20t and run those in tandem. So the 302 and the ac50?! Maybe swap the uv for the co2 reactor??
