Question Time to change the lights...

Hello all,

I am in the process of replacing my lights on my 150gal reef tank. Currently I have three 175w MH 10k XM bulbs, one URI 50/50 160w bulb and one corallife 160w actinic bulb lighting the tank (I would like just a little more blue). Currently I have a few LPS and soft corals, but no SPS or clams etc. However, I was thinking about the following configuration...

x3 10k XM MH
x2 Aquasun 160w VHO (10k)
x1 60" T5 Giesemann Aqua Blue+ (80w)
x1 60" T5 Giesemann Actinic+ (80w)

Anyone have experience with this configuration?

Thanks.
Bill

Why not just move to a 12 or 13k bulb?

I have had 12k XM 175's in before and that seemed like it was too much blue...

I don't have personal experience with that combination. But the look it should have seems pretty good. The reds and yellows will still pop along with the blues and greens.

That's kinda what I was thinking.. I wanted to catch as much of the spectrum I could. I ordered the lights today. Thanks..
