Used fluval 304 for $40?

Is this a good deal?

Not a bad deal. I paid $25 for my 305 and 405, but that was a steal. They don't make the 04 series anymore, but they parts are pretty easy to get for them. The seal around the top may need replaced, as that is one of the first things to fail typically. Probably <$5

Yea, I read about leaking problem with the 304. The guy just took the filter out of his tank. He said that there is no leak. If I buy this, should I get a new seal first?

Ok. Thanks.

1 more question. I already have a lot of biomedia in my fx5. Should I put more in the 304 or just pre-filter and pad? Thanks.

What's the best way to clean the media and sponges that came with the filter? The guy said that he cleaned the filter but I would want to clean the ones that I can't see. Like parasite or something. Thanks.
