UV inline with return bulkhead?

Is this ok or should the UV have its own PH? And if so is it best to have the intake and return on opposite sides of the tank.

Edit: it makes more sense to put it on the overflow line lol...is that ok?
 
i think the manufacturer should have specs on the flow rate that you should run through it to maximize efficiency.
 
I know the flow rate for it lol....Im asking about the most effective placement of the sterilizer in the flow of water.
 
It really depends on what you are using it for? Do you depend on your pods population? Moving to General hardware and equipment discussion.
 
No pods. Mainly as a preventative for parasites like ich etc in a fowlr tank.
 
I have my UV attached to my sump return line. The only down side is that pods going up to the main would be killed. Myself and youself are not relying on them but if you were you could not put your UV there.
