Versa Top Not Deep Enough

Hello everyone,

Before I put my LED light fixture on, I purchased an Aqueon Versa Top. I was super excited for the all-glass enclosure on my tank. I carefully cut the vinyl strips (boy was that a pain!) and made sure everything would fit.

When I set it on the aquarium, I noticed that with the lid shut and flush with the back of the tank, there is about a 1/2 in gap at the back. I purchased the 30 in model for my 29 gal tank, which is what it's made for (according to Aqueon).

So I guess my question is: Is this a common issue with the Versa Top lids? Should I be worried for my 75 gal I want to set up?

You could hot glue this in the trim and paint it black if you wanted to.
