So I have seen saltwater mix sold in plastic containers ready to add to an aquarium. I work at a restaurant and we get all our fryer oil in the exact plastic type containers. Is there any way I could wash them out to make them safe enough to hold RO/Di water for my SW tank?
They only held oil and I dont know if a few refills of really hot water would get out all the oil, cant have the oil in my ro di water

wash them out with hot water and rinse well. Should be okay. You could even use a mild dishsoap as long as you rinse well and test water and container for PO4.

The PO4 would be leftover dishsoap, if you used it to clean the oil up.

Plastic buckets are cheap at any hardware store. Waaaay cheaper than screwing up a tank because of contaminated salt water. Just my nickel's worth...
