Title pretty much says it all, just curious what a wet/dry filter is/does/ how much better it is then a power HOB filter. Might get one for my 55 gallon if I can find a cheap one.

Also what do I need for them?

Basically a wet/dry is a sump divided into at least 2 sections. Water enters the 1st section and passes over bio balls then into the next section where it's pumped back into the tank. It is a great biological filtration system.
Can't really compare it with a power filter because they are 2 different things. A power filter is more mechanical filtration than biological, even tho there will be some biological filtration.
