Scored this off CL for $5.00 has a few cracks and the bottom was busted on one corner, both were repaired with plexiglass glue i think.... but cannot figure out why i cannot find a similar sump that has an angled divider.. pardon me for the crappy pics. 20170512_001454.jpg

Every gallon of water 8.34 pounds then add the weight of substrate. Then you have the motion of water from the filter. It's not just weight but stress on the tank. To say nothing of bumping it. I would keep it and turn it into a garden planter.

What are the dimensions, water is 8lbs a gallon, this is acrylic, unless you carved out the cracks and injected acrylic solvent/weld bond in there?? Junk it... 5$is not worth a leak, ruined surfaces cost far more

Well not to mention that it was originally was supposed to be posted as $50, but one of their employees forgot to add the 0 on the post. As to thats how i got it for $5. 20" x 15.5" x 18"

seeing how messed up that thing is I would trust it to hold water for any length of time , have you ever seen 10 to maybe 20g of water on the floor ?

I know it don't sound like much , I've been there done that it's not worth the chance . cleaning up that mess along with repairing all the damage to the floors and rugs cost more than the 5 bucks you wasted on it , heck for another 5 bucks you could get a new 10g tank at one of those buck a gallon sales and not have a worry in the world ,

I couldn't put that blank under my tank even if it was only me going to see it , first knowing how it's botched together second knowing it could spring a leak at any time and third self respect you deserve better than that . if you were local I would donate a tank for the cause .

I have i have, did not want to risk it myself personally without your advices, also very kind of you to offer a tank, however i do have a 10 gal and acrylic sheets to cut, have not done so yet since im trying to develop a sump set up to go with my 55 gal planted freshwater, im currently running 2 cascade 500, both only have 2 levels (HATE THAT).... figured a sump would be more effective $$$ wise in the long run and provide a bit more stability for the water parameters... eh?

As im not going to be using this $5 sump, what could i do to repurpose this?? Aquarium wise?? If nothing involving fish then ill find something for it

Okay took a few close ups of the "crack"

Theres a small hole smaller than the width of my pinky finger on the corner followed by a 3-4" crack, asked what kind of glue he used, which was pexi glass glue, turns out he built this in his shop a while back, apparently he builds custom tanks... 20170515_083447.jpg

Still could leak water at some point.
Try it though, if I had it I would want to use it for something as well.

UPDATES, have made this a tank instead of a sump and looks fantastic! No leaks at all, just wished i drilled a few holes on the top for more water flow... however it seems to be just fine, did an instant cycle with the sponge filter and some filter pads from the 55 gal, intend on using this for my two angels to breed successfully
