What Protein skimmer to buy?

I am in the process of starting a SW tank. I have also been doing my search and reading books. I guess I would like some advice on what protein skimmer is the best bang for my buck. I was told an SWC skimmer or an octopus skimmer. Any advice or opinion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

When I looked for a skimmer, I wanted to find something that is quiet and energy efficient. I would really recommend the DC pumps, like Waveline or Reef Octopus Diablo DC.
