We moved to a house with really hard water in May and since then we have been having a terrible time with filters! We never had any problems before moving here. We have gone thru 3 small filters for 10-20 gallon tanks and now my big one for my 55 gallon tank is dying! We cleaned it out good, but the water only gets to the top of the filter and won't flow over. Normally it flows very well! I have a red ear slider I just switched from the smaller tank to the big tank. However I never had a problem with him clogging the smaller filter at our previous house. Help!

I have rock hard water and never had any issues. Most likely the first thing to do is wash them all very thoroughly. If that is not the problem then consider replacing impellers. If that doesn't do it then you may just need new filters.
