Yellow/Peeling Silicon

So I bought a 29 gallon bowfront aquarium off of craigslist and only when I got it home did I notice that the silicon was peeling off while I washed it and scraped the remnants of a reef tank off the sides. It does hold water. Should I be worried about this?
