Everything but the betta has been in the tank for a little over five weeks. Betta in for three days. Had him in a breeder net to get used to the others, and he seemed fine. No problems so far, but I'm keeping and eye on the situation. Ready to separate in necessary.

Okay...that is good. The moors and the fantail has some flying fins like the betta and he might find them as a threat or something leading to nipping. That is why they are a no no together...he is good with the platys...so that's fine, just worried about the others.

I haven't seen any aggression, fin nipping, harassment at all...so far.

The moor and fantail are bigger than the betta, so I'm not too worried. That was in the back of my mind at first, hence the breeder net. To my surprise, there wasn't anything to cause alarm.

The fantail and black moor need 10 gals each. They'll out grow your 10 gal tank pretty fast. I have them and my biggest moor is 4 years old and 8 inches long, nose to tail.

I've got a 29g in storage that I plan on getting up and running in the near future, because of that fact. I want to get a 55g for a bunch of schoolers, eventually. Not sure if I can find the room in my tiny apt though.

Good to hear. Goldfish are dirty so you'll want to do extra water changes and run a couple of filters if possible. I have a 37 gal and filters enough for 100 gals. The good part is the waste water goes into my gardens/plants and they love it :).

What a beautiful betta :D a lot of times it just depends on the individual betta some get along with those fish and some don't. So just keep a good eye on the tank.

Update: No aggression, nipping, or anything else of the sort. Is it too early to think I'm in the clear?

Thank you. Saw him at the store and I've never seen one with that bright of colors. My girlfriend and I fell in love with him.
He seems like he's getting along with the others really well. Swims right alongside of the moor and fantail like they are best friends.

I moved the male betta into my 29g. More room for him, more hiding spots for the others. I wasn't worried, I just think he looks better in that tank with the substrate and all.

he looks way better in there, but personally i would have moved the goldfish into there, depending on the temp, because as stated earlier goldfish need 20 gallons each and an extra 10 gallons for any other goldfish. the betta can live in a minimum of 2.5 gallons happily.
however that is just my opinion and it didn't mean to come across snobby or anything! :)
