Help getting water quality level & heaters to work

Hey...for what ever reason I can't get my nitrates in order no matter how many 25% water chances I do. Also I have two heaters now because each on there own for some reason won't always keep the temp where I set it. Last night the water was like ice. Two heaters set at 88 now has it at 76f. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe do a water change with either deionized water or distilled water

Have you checked your tap water for nitrates? Are you sure both heaters are functioning?
