what do you have as your backdrop? it's very pretty. i like the qualityof the light in your tanks. and your clowns are amazing!

Hi crazy cat
Thanks for the doodoes. The back drop is from a pet store that I came across years ago.It' basically a rocky background with a cave in grays and blues.I hand painted some plants on to it cause I thought it needed something else. The plants I have are real.I forget the name of it but its a tough plant and the fish don't eat it .The blue rock on the right hand side I had a dream about one night .The next day I happen to go into a pet store and their was this rock that I had dreampt about.True story.
The Log in the back ground ,If you look at the top of the log it looks like an Elaphants head.I stumbled upon it one day walking along the beach.
Their you have it,a little piece of my history.

Fluval 404

Hi - I was wondering what you thought of the Fluval 404. Down here in Australia, they have deleoped a pretty bad name because of problems with the "newer models" - Are you happy with them

regards
Darren

Hi DarrenDownUnder

So far this ones working pretty good. This is my 3rd fluval in about 20 years. The 1st one I had was the best It lasted about 10 years.I'd probably still have except we had a power outage and the motor fried because it didn't get primed soon enough.
The 1 I have now is better than the previous model. It's easy to take apart and put together again. It has a cool feature too. They've placed a ball just inside inline which keeps out small debrie or fish from being sucked into the pump. The preasure is better than the previous model too.I had problems with the last one where it would lose preasure when the tubing became dirty inside.
They've also replaced the 1/2" tubing with flex tubing instead. It a little more work to set up when 1st installing it but after that it pretty easy to maintain.
I personaly like the new system thus far.I've only had it for about 1 month and have had no problems with it.
Hope this helps

Today is a sad day.The last of my rainbows just past away.He did have a good life though. My wife thinks he was about 5 years old.I took a pic of him and measured him @ 6" from nose to tail.
Oh well ,its off to the fish store to see what I can find to replace him with.

Great pictures. I have a 55 gallon that I want to go bigger on and get larger fish like Clown Loaches, but I'm so afraid of the maintenance.
