Tank deal!

Is a 40 g tank with hood light extra bulbs heater and filter for 120 a good deal? Helps that its a local buy

Depends on where you're at and the equipment, but very likely not. Where I'm at I usually hold out for about 1$/gallon equipment included.(usually mediocre equipment )

True. Equipment is usually junk.

All my tanks so far is bought from Craigslist. The equipment included was not good at all. I had to buy a lot of stuff for the tanks.

Next time, I'm just going to buy a tank for its hood/light (I don't care for plants) and a tank. Everything else, I buy.
