I've noticed in my scrubber that generally only one algae dominates at a time. I have a couple of different macros, but chaeto is taking over for now.

Oh cool, so you have chaeto growing on the scrubber? I thought you grew microalgaes? (the bad ones) on a scrubber?

Thanks!

It grows whatever I seed it with and chaeto is about as easy an algae to harvest there is.

Some iPhone photos from a few minutes ago.

One shot is of the little rack that holds my probes. It sits in a dark corner and has volunteer acros growing on it.

* looks at your GSP and then back at mine*

How is that trigger behaving in your tank?

Need some GSP? I have a big quantity of it in the frag system as well. Grows like crazy for me.

The blue jaw trigger has become my favorite fish. He IS a model reef fish (although I may have just been lucky) but he needs a lot of swimming room. I can hand feed him and pick him up if I need to. He watches everything.

That's awesome, triggers are some of my fav fish.

I'd like some more GSP but I am not going to add any more coral to my tank until I upgrade unless I decide to go to a semi local frag swap that's coming up soon.

Updated shot of the LPS, SPS frag system. This is the system with the moving light panel. Check out the yellow goby in the purple acro.

I thought he might disturb the purple acro, but didn't have the heart to chase him off it.

Haha. Too funny. How delicate are acros? I'm curious. I've only kept softies.

He does look quite content in his perch

Do you keep any acropora crabs in your tank?

Nice shots! I have a black clown goby that does the same thing in a green acro of mine. He irritates it a bit, but I don't have the heart to chase him out either...

Had one show up on a friends rock that he gave me. A little brown one. I didn't like his looks in the acro, so I moved him to the soft coral tank.

Doesn't sound like a protector then. Probably hitching a ride and munching on a few polyps here and there.

Yeah, I didn't trust him, but I'm a softie, so I put him where he can't hurt anything.
