I was thinking of getting a file fish for my aptasia problem. Anyone have any experience with them for that?

I've read that they are aptasia eaters. I can't say for sure since I don't have any aptasia's in my tank to test that theory.

Alright it's time to replace my bulbs. Ordered two 250 watt Radium 20k SE bulbs I just received them today. I have a issue , my Blueline ballast are going to under power these bulbs. Now comes decision time.
1) return the bulbs and order the Reeflux 14k that I had previous
2) buy the new ballast to power these Radium Bulbs
3) is to convert over to Led's, and these are the LEDs that I will end up going with http://fathomled.com/products/pharos-series/
What decision should I go with ? Please help me out.

If it were me i would do the LED's. I just ordered the taotronics led system that a few people on this site own and they said they are great. I cant wait to get them in! Also you will save on the electric bill and they dont create the heat that hallides do. Leds also last a very long time so no replacing bulbs every 6 months to a year.

Really considering the change over myself. The wife has ok'ed whatever decision I go with. I just want some feedback before dishing out $1200 for lights at one time.

I hear that man. Look into the taotronics led fixtures. They are inexpensive and you can get dimmable versions. I dont have mine yet but a few people on the site have them and say they are great.

I started talking to Jimmy @ Fathom LEDs. We're trying to get something together to get this process going. It will probably next month when I'll switch over to LEDs.

Well my Naso Tang was DOA. Spoke to LA and their gonna credit my account until the full 14 days to see if any other fish die. So that they can send all the fish at one time.

Customer service is great.
I thought they were gonna ask for pics like a lot of other people do. But they didn't.

Well I just lost a Bartlett Anthias. I saw it coming he was breathing very rapidly laying on the bottom of the tank since the acclimation. So I'll will have to call LIve Aquaria tomorrow to inform them that I had another lost. Everyone else looks to be doing good swimming around normal.

I think you may have just added too many at once. That's only my opinion though. I'm glad LA is taking care of you!

I think it was more the whole shipping process that he didn't make it. Just like the naso DOA. I don't think 6 fish all about 2" would make that huge of a issue in less then 24 hrs in a system total water volume of 230 gal.
But hey I could be wrong. Stranger things have occurred. Lol
