Matt's 700 Gallon Natural Sunlight System

Hey guys,

A few old faces still around so thought I'd share my tank with you all.

Without talking too much here is a brief rundown:

Tank Specs:
Display: 7' x 5' x 2.2' Peninsular Style
Sump: 5' x 3' x 2 Racetrack Design
Return Pump: Sequence 12000
Flow: x6 Vortech MP40W's
Lighting: x2 ATI Powermodule 8x80w (Each unit runs 3 Aquablue Special, 3 Blue Plus, 1 Pro Color, 1 Purple Plus)
x3 250mm Solatubes
Chemical: Dual Chamber Calcium Reactor, x1 FBF Running Rowaphos, x1 FBF Running Activated Carbon
Skimmer: 1.2 Metre Tall Dual Recirculating Beckett (Laguna 11000 Driven)
RO Top Up: Tunze Osmolator

Holy cow! That tank is huge. A member here, Greenmaster, is building a 320g. Maybe you could chime in on some tips in maintaining and constructing a large tank.

Nice. I like the rockwork. It looks very open. How long have those corals been in there and growing?

I have made a minimalistic scape to allow for future growth of corals.

Most of the corals are grown from frags as I believe they are much more hardier in regards to colouration holding when water quality is less than desirable and obviously promotes preservation of the reef.

The tank is 14 months old, still a baby.

Do you have any pictures of how it's set up outside? It it just reflectors with a pipe?

That's pretty slick, but how does it affect temperatures within the house? Is there something that reflects infrared light?
