Beautiful puffer. Tank is looking good. Did you cycle it in 2 weeks..? The sweetlips should go though. They can grow over 2 feet! Maybe LA is generous with the minimum aquarium size for fish, but a fish that gets this large should be kept in a larger tank no doubt. LA recommends 500 gallon min. and 50 is just too small :/.

You need more rock also. The more rock you have (within reason), the better your system will be able to handle the fish load. Rock houses aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, which process your livestock's waste.

Fish in for about 2 weeks now, cycled with rock and bacteria of about a month while on vacation and agreed about the more rock I'm trying to find some nice live rock to put in there

gorgeous fish, but unfortunately obscurereef is right, that fish gets huge. I definitely see the apeal, but long term your tank and fish would certainly be in trouble. The good news is your puffer will be great in this tank.

Hey guys here's an update for my tank, recently I've added more love rock, added a protein skimmer, multiple corals, some new fish, got rid of the sweetlips and continually checked water to make sure everything was all good!

It's very dangerous to add multiple fish at once to a small tank. Also, a tang is a terrible choice for a 46 gallon. It looks tiny now, and I'm sure you'll re-home it, but I have to mention it. the anemones are also prematurely added IMO. You should really wait until your system is established before adding such sensitive creatures.

agreed. even a baby tang shouldn't be in that size tank. there is much debate about if small tanks affect fish growth. Regardless, it's best to buy fish that will live happily in your tank forever. A blue tang requires 180 gallons +
