My New Pet Ray (Pic)

Hey guys, look what I found while shrimping. He's about 5 in. in diameter. I am feeding him live shrimp right now. He seems happy alone in my 120. I know he will eventually outgrow it, so I will probably just release him at his capture site then. Thanks for looking.

I have always loved rays...not sure about keeping them in a tank.

Thats pretty damn cool. I think theres some rays that stay fairly small, there fairly pricey though.

Nice! I seen 2 of them in my LFS today. Do they eat Fish? I have read on them before but dont remember How big do they get?

Cool there is a cortez ray an my lfs right now. How much lr do you have? If you have to much it will end up bashing his head against the rock and dying ar least thats what my lfs said. They also said they are hardy and easy to care for in the right conditions.

its not a blue dot... they are commonly collected from the indian ocean. mine is from the gulf of mexico...

The blue "dots" on the bluedot rays are VERY prominent. I dont see any on his pic, but it might be just the angle....either way, its a great find!
