Trust me, you'll be much happier with smaller pieces laid out on each side. You can make one side a little higher then the other. But that's a big piece and your not gonna have a lot of real estate for different corals.
If you scape it differently you'll give yourself more room for a variety of corals plus free open space for swimming will make your fish happy. Even if your not doing corals the tank would look better with smaller pieces spread out and it will give the illusion of a bigger tank.
My buddy had a 10 gallon and no one believes that it's a 10 gallon.
What I would do and this is just me, I'd pull the 2 rocks further apart and try and find a small, flat piece that can act like a bridge. This will give you a nice cave and real estate for some corals to grow on the bridge.
