I though the forum members might like a few reef photos from the wild. I was a underwater photographer for many years. Enjoy.

Pardon the low resolution, the site will only allow so much. Most of these have been blown up very large for wall photos. A bit of everything including black coral (looks white) that was growing at 150'.

Thanks. Most taken off the two smaller Cayman Islands, my favorite place on earth. I have a lot of these and have made some nice prints. They are all shot with underwater Nikon equipment and on film!
Thanks for the kind compliments.

A few more.

In the night shot of the puffer fish, I had my wife hold him, puffed up, so I could get a shot up close to show the skin pattern is picked up in the fishes eyes.

The orange star coral was shot at night inside the wreck of the Rohne, the shipwreck from many movies. The inside at night is blazing orange with these things feeding, invisible during the day.

Yes! You win the cookie. Unfortunately the shipping on the cookie is prohibitive...so instead...good eye!
I love these Gobies, this one has been gone for a while and replaced by a orange diamond one that is quite the bulldozer.

The black coral (that is white when alive) was the only one I shot below 100'. Most were shot at 30-60' of water, where most stuff grows. Much of it at night.
I was on compressed air, dive master certified and did a decompression stop for about 30 minutes to be safe. I was at that depth for less than 2 minutes. I was after the coral shot and basically can swim slowly straight down clearing my ears then went back up for a stop. Pretty easy. I did get nitrox certified, but the picture predates the use of nitrox.

Oh ok. 30 min decompression sounds like a good precaution lol. I'm trying to find some find somewhere to get divemaster certified this summer. I can't spend enough time underwater lol.

Love the Moorish and Green Moray. Thanks for the beautiful pics and new Wall Paper!
