are my swordtail breeding???

i have 2 swordtail(a pair)the male keep nipping the female fins. is that the sing of matting??
i separate them after i saw it

It's actually a sign of aggression.

+1 you also said your tank was 1 gallon so it will make things worse. When you get your 20 you,ll be able to add more females

Yeah i think I said about this in another thread. So I'm just gonna remind you to boost up the female numbers when you have a 20-30g

ya i know i will get it soon about next week and the male sword tail keep nipping my male guppy the tail is "broken"
so i just put them(guppy) in another tank

Plenty of fresh water will help your guppies tail & hopefully keep infections away.
