Assasin snails breeding

Well- a pair of assassin snails have been tied up for almost 4 days. We're just laying in sand in essentially the same spot until this morning. Now on glass and moving- still "locked up"...







I've had assassins tie up before... Indeed had a "hatch" of them in our other tank (about 5 new tiny assassins). But have never seen them locked together this long.

Oh- and have seen an "explosion" of MTS in the last week... I counted 96 this morning. Normally, we might see 2-6 on any given day.

Don't expect to see the little ones any time soon. They immediately hide beneath the substrate for the first few months of life. When you do see them, you'll be amazed at just how tiny they are.

Yeah- in our other tank, the baby assassins just showed up. I don't remember how long it was after the "parents" locked up.
