Watching my Black Skirt tetras this morning, they are definitely breeding.

The male is shimmying up against the female and each time he does it, she drops some clearish eggs. As she drops them, they both turn around and try to eat them. Some have gotten away, so maybe I'll see some fry. Or maybe they are trying to eat them because something is wrong with them. I really don't know.

I recently got them, and put them in my 29 tank. They adjusted very well, very quickly.

I'm not attempting to breed them, but it was neat to see. I don't have any isolation tanks, so there is no way to protect the eggs or remove alll the fish from the tank. Heck, with light colored substrate I can't even see the eggs after they fall.

Has anyone else had their Black Skirts breed? Was it successful?

Your lucky. Taking a guess here about the egg eating. They might be new parents, so no experience. Or blackskirts are like livebearers, and will eat eggs/fry. I also have these in my 29, neat fish but I've never paid attention to breeding.
